Herbs can be culinary, they can be natural medicines, and they can be used for personal care. Think of Rosemary; you cook with it, and you find it in shampoo as a skin care ingredient.

Herbs carry unique anti-oxidants, essential-oils, vitamins, phyto-sterols and many other plant-derived nutrient substances, which help equip our body to fight against germs, toxins and to boost immunity level.

In this talk April will discuss how to incorporate more herbs safely into your life: in your food, drinks and fermented diets. Herbs are not just for food seasoning – there’s a whole botanical world of possibility for using herbs as part of a healthy lifestyle and immune system.


About April Danann MSc

April is a food scientist, Naturopathic Nutritionist, and family herbalist. She lives and works in West Cork where she runs a fermentation and natural medicine business called Rebel Foods.  April’s research project for BSc (Hons) using Irish honey won the CAFRE Award for 2011 (the medicinal and therapeutic properties of honey). Other research has been carried out on the medicinal properties of garlic (dipNT), the phenomenon of the rise and recent bans on bottled water products (MSc), and various current interest and opinion pieces.
