Yoga & Meditation

Weekly Classes

We are not a yoga studio but the ‘studio’ room is the perfect space for quiet reflection and a good stretch, which is why we have regular yoga and meditation throughout the week.

at 6pm – 7.15pm
€12 drop in or €60 for a six class pass

Eithne’s teaching style emphasises the importance of alignment and the breath while building strength and flexibility. She encourages you to find a balance between effort and ease, allowing you to find the space in your body that can take your practice a little deeper. Eithne teaches a dynamic flowing class and helps you connect with the teacher within; recognising the importance of honouring the self which in turn ripples outwards and honours all living things, acknowledging that we are all one.

Meditation with Japa yoga and Pranayama
Japa Yoga is a form of meditation where mantras are chanted to steady and focus the mind; it is also a form of sound healing.  Pranayama is a series of yogic practices for controlling the breath.  All are welcome to join in this open and supportive environment where we explore Pranayama and Japa as the basis for meditation.

Contact Eithne for further information on both of these classes. There are no classes on Bank Holiday Mondays, unfortunately.

with Katie Coldrick
at 6pm – 7.15pm
€12 drop in or €60 for a six class pass

Katie’s classes are about attuning to the pace of nature. Each class will take into account the time of year and adapt the practice to suit how students are feeling on a given day. During the winter season, we’ll use dynamic movement to warm up the body and help limber stiff joints, but we’ll also make time for deep rest, with a guided yoga nidra, like a mini-hibernation. Both sides of the practice will emphasise a connection with the breath and create an opportunity to listen and find stillness within.

In my 90 minute weekly classes I hope to remind students that the most effective and perceptive teacher in the room is their own body. I attune students towards awareness of the sensations associated with each asana or pranayama. I find this a more integrative method than staging a pose for students to copy. I like to think I can speak the language of sensation clearly, so classes become a simple, joyful and sensual exploration.

Sundays 6 – 7.15pm

Begins Sunday 13th October

“Yin Nidra” is a 1.5-hour class which blends the gentle and restorative practices of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. The class begins with 50 mins of Yin Yoga and concludes with a 40-min Yoga Nidra.
Yin Yoga is a blend of traditional yoga and Chinese medicine. The practice employs yoga poses to stimulate and rejuvenate the body’s key organs and interconnective tissue. Yin yoga is practised sitting or lying on the floor. There are no planks, no warriors, no core work. No dynamic sun salutations. No standing poses. The pace is slow and comfortable, warm clothes are worn. You can expect forward bends, lunges and gentle backbends – but the key difference is that in yin yoga, they are held for a longer period of time to increase flexibility in that part of the body. Instead of holding for five breaths, as in an typical yoga class, in a yin class they could be held for between two and 20 minutes, although five is more usual.

Wednesdays 3pm – 4pm

(Children’s yoga runs only during the school term.)

In children’s yoga classes I create a fun and safe place for your child to enjoy them selves and learn practical tools to help them in today’s busy and sometime confusing world. I use games, dance, stories and movement to allow your child to express themselves while also learning how to become body and mind aware. Through breath work the children learn how to cope with stressful situations; through talking circles they learn how to communicate, and through movement they learn how to become body aware and confident. While all the time having lots of fun!

I am a mother to 2 fantastic daughters, who are my greatest teachers.
