- An Introduction to Seed Savers and seed saving
November 5, 2016
11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Discover the difference between an insitu and an exsitu seed bank, learn about Lady Christl and May Queen potatoes, find out what Auld Sod and Cabot Canadians are.
Seed Savers will share their skills and knowledge with you about some of their 600 varieties of organic, open pollinated heritage seeds and inform you why seed saving, once a common gardening practice, is a must to create sound ecological systems and to empower individuals.
We feel like seed saving is such an important topic for people to know about, which is why we have made this a free introductory talk. But if you want to learn the practicals of HOW to save seeds yourself, then have a think about the workshop later in the afternoon.
