Handstand Workshop: Shoulders Unlock
This workshop is designed to explore correct shoulder placement, unlock the available range of movement and gain ease and strength in the basic shapes of the handstand: straight, tuck and straddle.
We will work through a wide array of drills and exercises to bring awareness and activate specific muscles through static holds, various entries/exits and dynamic movement on the floor, at the wall and with a spotter, to get to grips with the relation between wrists, shoulders, and upper back/sternum while inverted.
This workshop does not suit complete beginners. It is aimed at people with a basic understanding and experience of the handstand shape.
– a comfortable 30 second plank
– comfortably kicking up to handstand against a wall
– a comfortable 30 second chest-to-wall or back-to-wall handstand hold.
Do not hesitate to get in touch if you are not sure whether this suits your level.
