- Bitters Making Workshop with Jarrod Cuffe
November 2, 2016
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
If you think bitters are just for mixologists you might not expect what we have in store for you.
In recent times we’ve seen bitters appearing more and more across a range of culinary avenues – added to unconventional drinks, drizzled on desserts and included in all sorts of dishes … not to mention the number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks you can make with them!
Learn how to make and use your own bitters in our hands-on workshops.
The session will begin with a brief background of bitters, some interactive experiments, and a tincture tasting, so you can learn how to make and use bitters in cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and in cooking.
You will learn basic formulas, tools, and processes for making bitters from botanicals including orange peel, cardamom, gentian, cascara, wormwood, hibiscus and cocoa. We will craft a batch of versatile aromatic bitters as well as help you to craft your own unique blend of bitters to take home.
All ingredients and information is provided, each guest will get one of our bitters and one of their own to take home. Session is limited to 30 people and strictly over 18’s.
About Jarrod Cuffe
Jarrod, who was once a chef, has always believed in the importance of flavour balance. A desire to focus more on customer interaction brought him to the front of house where he found his hands in the ice. Originally from Australia, Jarrod has moved all over Europe working in bars in Paris, London & Dublin.
Off the Cuffe, Bitter solutions, was set up by Jarrod Cuffe and Barry Gargan in 2014 to create bitters in Dublin City.
We aim to source all Irish ingredients and recreate ancient Irish recipes that have been long forgotten to the winds of time, that can claim to aid in digestion, increase clarity of the mind and build fortitude of the body or just make a seriously tasty drink.
